This $4 note features an interesting vignette of an elaborately engraved bee. The vignettes of this issue were engraved in copper plates by Gabriel Lewyn, a goldsmith from Baltimore. Incredibly scarce, of the 10,000 bee notes originally printed only 16 are known to survive today.
