North Carolina Colonial Note Fr#NC-69 April 4, 1748 40s PCGS 15 - Flags & Cannons
This early 1748 North Carolina note features a relatively minimalistic design with an emblem of flags and cannons on the lower left. Notes from this issue were printed from engraved copper plates and held the purpose of funding fortifications for the colony and reducing public debts. Only 2,000 of these early 40 shilling notes were originally printed. This example has a bold emblem and readable date for it’s age.
