North Carolina Colonial Note Fr#NC-119 April 23, 1761 3s PCGS 6 *15 Known*
This April 23, 1761 3 Shilling note was printed by James Davis. “Death to Counterfeit” can be seen along the edges along with ornamental borders. Although higher denomination notes from this series such as the 20s & 30s are relatively common, lower denominations such as this 3 Shilling note were heavily circulated and have very low survivability. Of the 3,000 3 Shilling bills originally printed, only 15 examples are known to exist today. Fantastic value for the rarity. Neat contemporary backing where it appears a colonist was practicing their handwriting.
