This low denomination $1/8 note features an interesting vignette of an elaborately engraved Snake biting a sword. The vignettes of this issue were engraved in copper plates by Gabriel Lewyn, a goldsmith from Baltimore. Tough and sought after 1776 note. Solid VF example, usually seen in low grade. Extremely scarce, of the 12,500 Snake bills originally printed, only 4 are known to exist today.
