The April 2, 1776 North Carolina issue is unique in the fact that this issue contains 56 different varieties, the highest number of varieties of and American paper money issue. This $1/2 note features an interesting vignette of a crow sipping from a pitcher. The vignettes of this issue were engraved in copper plates by Gabriel Lewyn, a goldsmith from Baltimore. Incredibly scarce, of the 12,500 originally printed only 15 are known to exist today. Nice eye appeal for the grade on this desirable 1776 North Carolina note.
