The April 2, 1776 North Carolina issue is unique in the fact that this issue contains 56 different varieties, the highest number of varieties of and American paper money issue. This low denomination $2 1/2 note features an interesting vignette of an elaborately engraved Hand w/ 13 Arrows. The vignettes of this issue were engraved in copper plates by Gabriel Lewyn, a goldsmith from Baltimore. Scarce and sought after 1776 note. Extremely scarce, of the 10,000 halibut bills originally printed, only 6 are known to exist today.
