This rare North Carolina note was printed by Thomas Davis at Halifax using engraved border and vignette cuts. The front of this 20 Shilling bill features bold borders and a vignette of Justice encircled by the motto “DO AS YOU WOULD BE DONE BY”. The bottom border states “BEWARE COUNTERFEITERS”. Not much is known about this incredibly scarce later issue. Of 20,000 originally printed this is one of only 2 original examples known to exist, the rest are contemporary counterfeits which are much more common.
