North Carolina Colonial Note Fr#NC-68 April 4, 1748 30s PMG 20 *Winged Stirrup*
This early 1748 North Carolina note features a relatively minimalistic design besides the beautiful winged stirrup emblem on the lower left. Notes from this issue were printed from engraved copper plates and held the purpose of funding fortifications for the colony and reducing public debts. Only 2,000 of these early 30 Shilling notes were originally printed. Lovely early note in very nice condition for the grade with strong light paper, bold ink, and a whole appearance. Incredibly high eye appeal for a note from this issue with neat endorsements on the reverse.
Signers: Edward Mosley, Eleazer Allen, Samuel Swann, John Starkey
