North Carolina Colonial Note Fr#NC-69 April 4, 1748 40s PCGS 25 *Flags & Cannons*
This early 1748 North Carolina note features a relatively minimalistic design besides the beautiful drum, flags, and cannons emblem on the lower left. Notes from this issue were printed from engraved copper plates and held the purpose of funding fortifications for the colony and reducing public debts. Only 2,000 of these early 40 Shilling notes were originally printed. Lovely early note in very nice condition for the grade with strong paper, bold ink, and a whole appearance. Neat endorsements on the reverse.
Signers: Edward Mosley, John Starkey, Samuel Swann, Eleazer Allen
