North Carolina Colonial Note Fr#NC-97 May 4, 1758 40s PMG 15 *4 Known NEWMAN PLATE NOTE*
The May 4, 1758 North Carolina issue is generally scarce. Only 7,000 Pounds worth of these 6% interest bearing bills were printed. This note is larger in size than the 1760/1761 issue and was printed with a typeset and ornamental border design by James Davis. Incredibly scarce, of the 1,000 40 Shilling bills originally printed, only 4 are known to exist today. This particular example is a Newman Plate Note, with its image featured in Eric P.
