$0.00
Sold Out

The notes of the March 9, 1754 North Carolina issue had a minimalistic design and various seals. This early 1 Shilling note features a N.C. Monogram vignette. Low denominations, such as this are generally significantly scarcer than higher denominations in the series. Although low grade, of the 10,000 1 Shilling monograms originally printed, this is the only example known to survive today. These low denominations experienced a ton of handling and colonists went to great lengths to repair and extend the life of these notes. Previously a part of the Kimpton Collection. Consider this a unique 1/1 discovery note. Incredible piece of history at an affordable price for the rarity.
