Pennsylvania Colonial Note Fr#PA-116 June 18, 1764 4d PMG 2 *Printed by Ben Franklin*
This low denomination note was printed by Benjamin Franklin and David Hall. The smaller denominations of this series were small in size and have a typeset reverse rather than nature print. Franklin implemented the British arms on the front rather than Penn arms. “Printed by B. Franklin” can be hardly distinguished on the middle of the reverse. Of the 60,000 4 Pence originally printed, only 2 notes, including this one are known to survive today.
