This early note was printed by Benjamin Franklin and David Hall. Nice legibility on the front and “Printed by B. Franklin” can be made out along the bottom of the reverse. Lower denominations from this issue, such as this note, are very scarce. Of the 38,000 5 Shilling notes originally printed, only 5 are known to survive today.
