Pennsylvania Colonial Note Fr#PA-101 April 5, 1759 50s PMG 15 *Ben Franklin*
This early note was printed by Benjamin Franklin and David Hall. On the reverse, “Printed by B. FRANKLIN” can be very clearly read across the left edge and “To Counterfeit is Death” can be read across the top. A beautiful leaf nature print can be seen on the middle of the reverse. This April 25, 1759 issue is generally more scarce than most other Franklin issues. This high denomination 50 Shilling bill uniquely was printed in red and black ink. Very scarce, of the 10,000 originally printed only 14 are known to exist today. High quality example with superior legibility, signatures, and eye appeal, incredibly tough to find in comment free condition by PMG. Low serial number 93. Lovely note and a high caliber addition for any colonial collector.
Signers: Joseph Stretch, Abel James, Richard Pearne
