This 20 Shilling note was printed by Benjamin Franklin and David Hall. Franklin implemented the British arms on the front rather than Penn arms. 4 crowns can be seen above the arms on the front, each representing 5 Shillings in value. Nature print can be seen on the reverse. Nice example for the grade with relatively strong signatures and wonderful legibility throughout. “Printed by B. FRANKLIN” can be seen across the bottom of the reverse with “To Counterfeit is DEATH” on the top. Additionally, this note bears the incredibly elusive signature of George Clymer. Clymer was an American Founding Father and signer of both the Declaration of Independence and Constitution. Although faded, his signature can be made out above G. Roberts. Priceless piece of history with a signer of this caliber on the medium of a note printed by Benjamin Franklin. Fantastic addition and a key note for any colonial collection.

Signers: George Clymer, G. Roberts, Jonathan Hughes Jr.
