This 4 Pence Groat from the April 3, 1772 Pennsylvania issue is small in size compared to large denominations and only contained one signature. Less of these small change notes survived, with 33,963 4 Pence notes originally printed and only 23 known today. Additionally, this example bears the sought after signature of John Morton, a signer of the United States Declaration of Independence adding significant value to this note.
