Only 6,000 Pounds worth of bills were printed in this seldom seen March 25, 1775 Pennsylvania issue. The purpose of this issue was to fund the Cape Henlopen Lighthouse, buoys, and piers which can be seen on the obverse pillars. Similar to the March 20, 1773 issue with a beautiful ornamental borders and lighthouse scene on the reverse with “To Counterfeit is Death”. Printed by Hall and Sellers on paper with blue threads and mica flakes. Fantastic eye appeal on this AU example.
Signers: Ezekiel Edwards, Charles Wharton, Richard Vaux
