This Pennsylvania note from the October 25, 1775 issue was printed by Hall and Sellers on paper containing blue threads and mica flakes. The higher denominations (including this 5 Shilling note) were larger in size and feature a bold nature print reverse. The Penn Arms and pillared borders can be seen with the front with 1 crown embedded in the text representing 5 Shillings of value. Beautiful AU example of this surprisingly scarce Pennsylvania note. Of 6,000 originally printed only 40 are known to exist today.
Signers: Thomas Tilbury, Isaac Howell, Richard Humphreys
