The purpose of this late April 20, 1781 issue was to support the Army and replace depreciated pervious issues. The dots that encircle the emblem denote the denomination of this note (2 dots each representing 3 Pence). This note was printed by John Dunlap on paper that is watermarked “PENNSYLVANIA” in 2 lines. The reverse has a type-set design and “To Counterfeit is Death”. These late issue Pennsylvania notes are generally scarce. Very clean uncirculated and problem free example with superb eye appeal.
