State: Pennsylvania
Certification: PMG
Grade: Very Good 10
Comments: “Severed & Reattached, Repaired”
This very early 1756 Pennsylvania note was printed by Benjamin Franklin and David Hall. On the front, the Pennsylvania Arms can be seen along with 3 crowns representing the value of this note (1 crown for every 5 Shillings). “Printed by B. Franklin” remains exceptionally bold along the bottom of the reverse along with nature print. Despite being lower grade, decent legibility remains especially on Franklin’s name. Seldom seen 1756 note, of the 20,000 originally printed, only 24 are known to survive today. That is nearly 1/1000 of the original print run by Franklin.
