This early note was printed by Benjamin Franklin and David Hall, attractive legibility on both the front and back. Intentional misspellings were common in this issue. On the reverse, “Printed by B. Franklin” can be read across the bottom and “To Counterfeit is Death” can be read across the top. A leaf nature print is visible on the middle of the reverse. Of the 18,000 15 shilling notes originally printed, only 13 are known to survive today. This note was a part of the Kimpton Collection.
