This early 1757 half note was printed by Benjamin Franklin and David Hall. Intentional misspellings were common in this issue as an anti-counterfeiting measure. 4 crowns can be seen above the Arms, with each grown representing 5 Shillings of value. Only 12 March 10, 1757 20 Shilling notes are known to exist. The reverse features nature print and “Printed by B. Franklin, and D. Hall 1757” can be clearly read along the bottom edge. Although the full date is not visible, it is confirmed to be a March 10, 1757 through comparison to whole examples.
