The January 15, 1776 Rhode Island issue was printed on thin paper by John Carter. There is also a fish on the boarder above the serial number which is barely distinguishable. This issue is generally scarce in every denomination. This 6 Pence note was the lowest denomination of the issue. Out of 6,000 originally printed, this note is the only 6 Pence known to exist today.
