The May 3, 1775 Rhode Island issue was printed on thin paper by John Carter. This note has a minimalistic typeset design with an emblem of an anchor encircled by the Latin motto “IN TE DOMINE SPERAMUS” (In you, Lord, we trust). There is also a fish on the top border. This issue is incredibly scarce in every denomination. Higher denominations, such as this had printed backs. This 30 Shilling note was the second highest denomination of the series. Lovely example with bright paper and ink, notes from this issue are usually seen in low grades. Exceptional rarity, of the 4,000 30 Shilling bills originally printed this is the only example known to survive, 1/1 unique item and discovery note in striking condition. A true rarity worthy of the advanced collector.
