Rhode Island Colonial Note Fr#RI-193 June 16, 1775 10s PMG 10 *4 Known*
The June 16, 1775 Rhode Island issue was printed on thin paper by John Carter. This note has a minimalistic typeset design with an emblem of an anchor encircled by the latin motto “IN TE DOMINE SPERAMUS” (In you, Lord, we trust). There is also a fish on the upper boarder. This issue is incredibly scarce in every denomination. This is one of only four 10 Shilling bills from this issue known to exist. Extremely high eye appeal for a 10, would likely jump a few grades in a modern holder. Newman lists this note for $1000 in VG.
Signers: Thomas Greene, Metcalfe Bowler
