Rhode Island Colonial Note Fr#RI-211 November 6, 1775 2s PCGS 30 *Scarce*
The November 6, 1775 Rhode Island issue was printed on thin paper by John Carter. This note has a minimalistic typeset design with an emblem of an anchor encircled by the latin motto “IN TE DOMINE SPERAMUS” (In you, Lord, we trust). There is also a fish on the boarder above the serial number. This issue is generally scarce in every denomination. Lower denominations, such as this note were printed with a blank back. Only 13 examples of this 2 Shilling note are known to exist today. Incredibly difficult to find this nice and with eye appeal. Newman lists this note for $2250 in VF.
