Rhode Island Colonial Note Fr#RI-212 November 6, 1775 3s PMG VF-20 GCC Green *12 Known*

$795.00

The November 6, 1775 Rhode Island issue was printed on thin paper by John Carter. This note has a minimalistic typeset design with an emblem of an anchor encircled by the Latin motto “IN TE DOMINE SPERAMUS” (In you, Lord, we trust). This issue is generally scarce in every denomination. Lower denominations, such as this note, were printed with a blank back. Only 12 examples of this 3 Shilling note are known to exist today, likely due to heavy circulation being a low denomination and thin fragile paper resulting in low survivability. Absolutely gorgeous problem free VF example with light paper, strong ink, and red ink signatures that pop. Incredibly tough to find this nice, usually seen tattered. Quality well deserving of the evergreen sticker from GCC.
