The November 6, 1775 Rhode Island issue was printed on thin paper by John Carter. This note has a minimalistic typeset design with an emblem of an anchor encircled by the latin motto “IN TE DOMINE SPERAMUS” (In you, Lord, we trust). This issue is generally scarce in every denomination. Higher denominations, such as this note, featured a printed reverse with many different ornamental borders where lower denominations had a blank back. Incredibly scarce note, of 3,000 originally printed only 5 examples are known to exist today. Decent note for the grade with whole appearance and bold ink, usually seen tattered.
