This 1786 late issue Rhode Island note was printed by Southwick and Barber and features a typeset design with an elaborate boarder and the Rhode Island State Arms on the left center. Interesting top boarder with birds and a beautiful anchor emblem at the center of the note. Lower denominations such as this 1 Shilling note have a blank back. This issue was riddled with depreciation, by 1789 these notes only carried 10% of their original value. Consequently, over 96% of this issue was burned by the state between 1793 and 1803. Crisp and bold uncirculated example with a huge upper selvage included. Neat uncirculated note for the price.
