This 1786 late issue Rhode Island note was printed by Southwick and Barber and features a typeset design with an elaborate boarder and the Rhode Island State Arms on the left center. Higher denominations such as this 6 Shilling note have an elaborately printed back stating “Death to Counterfeit”. This issue was riddled with depreciation, by 1789 these notes only carried 10% of their original value. Consequently, over 96% of this issue was burned by the state between 1793 and 1803. This note would be uncirculated without question but it appears there was an error in cutting the sheet that has been repaired with archival tape. Fantastic value in this note with huge margins.
