This 1786 late issue Rhode Island note was printed by Southwick and Barber and features a typeset design with an elaborate boarder and the Rhode Island State Arms on the left center. Higher denominations such as this 20 Shillings note have a printed back. This issue was riddled with depreciation, by 1789 these notes only carried 10% of their original value. Consequently, over 96% of this issue was burned by the state between 1793 and 1803. There is a tear at the upper right corner, however this high grade example has fantastic eye appeal.
