This note from the November 15, 1775 South Carolina issue is small in size and features a seal at the bottom right. This 10 Shilling bill features a seal with “10” as well as the date and denomination spelled out. This note was printed and engraved by James Oliphant with a blank reverse and basic line borders. Extremely scarce, of the 10,000 10 Shilling notes originally printed, only 13 are known to survive today with this problem free 2 being towards the top of the population report. Very tough to find in problem free condition, this issue is usually seen tattered. Previously a part of the iconic Eric P. Newman Collection. Stunning note worthy of a high tier collection.
