The notes of the November 15, 1775 South Carolina issue are generally scarce, and were engraved and printed by James Oliphant. This 2 Pound, 10 Shilling note has an emblem of 2 swords encircled by the latin motto “PRO LIBERTATE” (For freedom). Of the 10,000 originally printed, only 11 are known to survive today. Very neat and rare note for the price.
