This South Carolina note was printed by Peter Timothy in Charleston on thick paper. The emblems and borders were engraved in wood. This $3 note features an emblem of the Oracle at Delphi encircled by the latin motto “FATA VIAM INVENIENT” (The fates will find a way). The reverse features ornamental borders along with “DEATH to Counterfeit”. Absolutely gorgeous example with huge margins and eye appeal far superior to the grade.
