This South Carolina note printed on thick brown paper by Peter Timothy in Charleston. The front features an emblem of a horse encircled by the Latin motto “DOMINUM GENEROSA RECUSAT” (The well born refuses a master). The back is ornamented with Hebrew and Greek letters, with “Death to Counterfeit” appearing twice. Solid example of this desirable 1776 note with bold ink and large margins.
