The February 14, 1777 issue was small with only $20 and $30 bills produced. The front of this note is typeset with interesting engraved boarders and a beautiful emblem featuring a bird escaping from it’s cage symbolizing freedom. The emblem is encircled by the latin motto “IBI PATRIA UBI LIBERTAS” (Here in our country is where freedom is). The reverse is quite plain with ornamental boarders and a Death to Counterfeit motto in the center. Very attractive problem free example with bold ink throughout and large signatures.
