The notes of the April 10, 1778 South Carolina issue were printed on thin paper from engraved copper plates. This 5 Shilling bill carries a bold and beautiful vignette of a phoenix. Incredible near GEM example with crisp light paper and bold black ink. Well deserving of the elusive PPQ designation from PCGS and near the top of the population report.
