This February 8, 1779 $50 note was elaborately engraved by Thomas Coram of Charleston. On the front, a figure of Providence and globe surrounded by the the latin motto “PROVIDENTIA NOSTRIS PRAESIDEAT” (Let foresight guide us) can be seen on the bottom left. The reverse of this note features an incredible classical design of Atlas holding a boulder. Pleasing VF example of this very popular note.
