This February 8, 1779 $90 note was elaborately engraved by Thomas Coram of Charleston. On the front, a soldier and the Latin motto “ARMISA CONCURRITE CAMPO” (Assemble the field of arms) can be seen on the bottom left. The reverse of this note features an incredible classical design of Hercules strangling a lion. Gorgeous note in choice uncirculated condition with strong black ink, light & bright paper, and striking eye appeal. This elite example holds the top of the population report at PMG, finest known.
