Treasury bills of the October 16, 1780 Virginia issue were printed on extremely thin paper by Dixon. Deliberate misspellings were common in this issue as secret marks to deter and expose counterfeiting. The front features a typeset design and various ornamental borders. The reverse is blank besides printed denomination on each side. These high denomination notes were printed during a time of high inflation due to war. These notes are usually seen tattered and faced low survivability due to thin rice-like paper. Gorgeous example with strong eye appeal for the grade.
