Virginia Colonial Note Fr#VA-27 April 5, 1759 5s PMG 8 *2 Known*
This early Virginia note was printed by William Hunter on thin laid paper. The front features large state arms and denominational borders printed using lead cuts. Interestingly, in excavations of Colonial Williamsburg cast lead cuts used to print this issue were found near where the original print shop was located. Lovely detail remains on this unique note. Incredibly low survivability, of the 20,000 originally printed, only 2 are known to exist today. An elite addition for any high caliber colonial collection.
