Virginia Colonial Note Fr#VA-77b July 17, 1775 20 Shillings - Large Size PCGS 20

$0.00
Sold Out

This large sized Virginia bill was engraved by Henry Ashby, printed on uniface paper from copper plates. Rag paper was exhausted from the printing of small notes from the July 17, 1775 issue, so these large size notes reused leftover paper from the March 4, 1773 issue that was engraved by Ashby. Due to their large size, these bills are usually only seen folded. Bold printing throughout, and interestingly there was an error in writing the serial number with 7400 written over what appears to be 7379.

Signers: Philip Johnson, John Tazewell, (Countersigned Robert Carter Nicholas Treasurer on the reverse)
