This large sized Virginia bill was engraved by Henry Ashby, printed on uniface paper from copper plates. Rag paper was exhausted from the printing of small notes from the July 17, 1775 issue, so these large size notes reused leftover paper from the March 4, 1773 issue that was engraved by Ashby. Due to their large size and thin paper, these bills are usually seen tattered. Bold printing throughout and clean light paper. Incredibly problem free example well deserving of the evergreen sticker from GCC. Very difficult to find this nice, of the 3,500 originally printed only 8 are known to exist today.
